Position Summary:
Deliver product to customer accounts meeting internal schedule and quality standards. Provide customer service by assisting with problem resolution and accepting product returns as required. Maintain compliance with DOT regulations.
This position requires A or B CDL classification and must operate CDL required equipment. Class B CDL allows associate to drive any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds GVWR. Class B classification does not allow associate to drive a class A vehicle. Class A CDL is any combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Primary Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Organize and loads product for delivery utilizing the manifest assuring the most efficient delivery route and schedule
Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries; i.e., invoices, COD paperwork, etc.
Deliver and unloads product at customer facility using appropriate tools, i.e., Proof of Delivery Scanner; ensure all product is courteously delivered, returns are accepted and appropriate document is generated/captured and overages/shortages as well as damaged products are noted accurately; verify all product is delivered against shipping documents provided and obtains customer signature on appropriate documentation provided (hard copy or electronic clipboard)
Ability to efficiently deliver to multiple routes may be required
Perform all functions in compliance with all D.O.T. regulations and company safety rules
Accept returns from customer, completing appropriate paperwork and returns product to warehouse; place product in designated return area with supporting appropriate documentation; accurately update manifest with return reason codes
Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate; inform supervisor of any issues that remain outstanding
Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and report any maintenance problems to supervisor
Primary Interactions:
Daily interaction with customers for delivery/pick-up of product, and warehouse and customer service associates
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required or equivalent work experience
Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years of age
Minimum of two (2) years CDL operator experience required
Must have a CDL license and have previous experience driving trucks in excess of 26,000 GVWR
Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
Must be D.O.T. certified with a good driving record and physically qualified to drive by passing a D.O.T. physical
Ability to lift, push/pull equipment/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds
Good knowledge of geographic delivery area
Prior experience with safe operating of hand truck/dolly type equipment
On-the-job training for pallet jack and OSHA training for stand-up lift and order puller is required
Good verbal and written communication skills required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand. Employee will regularly drive a delivery truck with a gross vehicle weight in excess of 26,000 pounds, and must be able to safely enter and exit the truck throughout the day; may use dolly type equipment to deliver product to customers. Must be able to enter and/or scan product and customer information into a hand-held scanner (electronic clipboard) as required, after completion of company-provided training.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near mechanical equipment. Drive throughout assigned route in all kinds of weather and road conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
