The Manager of Rehabilitation Services, under the general direction of the Director, manages daily operations and clinical services delivery in addition to staffing, timekeeping, and performance management of designated team members.
This position has direct oversight of the supervisory and coordinating Rehabilitation team.
ResponsibilitiesA day in the life of a Manager, Rehab Services at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
Manages the day-to-day operations of clinical care, staffing, workflows, customer service, and quality assurance Maintains working knowledge of the individual program workflows.
Manages daily coverage and staffing levels for all assigned areas according to volume demands and staff availability.
Manages the monitoring and auditing of clinical documentation and delivery of clinical services for regulatory compliance.
Makes recommendations for process changes when shortfalls are identified.
Develops monitoring and control mechanisms to evaluate employee performance relating to clinical competency, productivity, accuracy, and professional courtesy while communicating with patients, physicians and other team members.
Develops Patient Care policies and procedures in accordance with evidence-based medicine and regulatory standards.
Assists Director with budget development and monitoring.
Identifies and initiates cost reduction and productivity improvement programs as needed.
Recruits and hires appropriate staff to ensure high quality clinical services, providing effective leadership, coaching and development opportunities.
Provides coaching, training, and performance evaluations to current team as necessary.
Counsels team members, provides written disciplinary action and Performance Improvement Plans as necessary.
Manages Time and Attendance records for the team utilizing current HR platform and ensures compliance with all HR policies.
Resolves complex and escalated cases concerning clinical care, customer service/satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
Facilitates Program development to better meet the needs of our community and physicians.
Functions as the clinical resource/liaison to the community, physicians, administration and team members.
Manages marketing and community outreach efforts for Rehabilitation Services.
Oversees special projects, audits as assigned.
QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Graduate of accredited PT, OT or SLP program.
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with audiences of all levels.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office suite.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Master's degree.
Knowledge and comfort with Clinical EMR's, HR platforms and Budgeting systems.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred Physical Therapist License or Occupational Therapist License or Speech Language Pathology License.
